Friday Night Dustin

Battle Murder Sans in the ultimate FNF × Dusttale crossover with 20+ songs and unique mechanics

The Dark Tale of Friday Night Dustin

Prologue: The Fall

The story starts during FNF's Week 3, with Boyfriend rap battling Pico. Each time Boyfriend loses, Girlfriend revives him by RESETting. Pico notices the RESETS and grows furious of Boyfriend's "cheating," trapping them in an infinite loop. As the week repeats, Pico slowly goes insane and kills Girlfriend, obtaining the power of RESETing. Boyfriend flees in terror and runs into Mt. Ebott, jumping into the underground.

Main Story: Determination

Boyfriend falls into the underground and faints, getting into a nightmare where lust to avenge Girlfriend fills his heart with Determination. The player takes control of BF using all his determination and gaining the power of "Perseverance." After trudging through the empty Ruins, Boyfriend encounters Sans past the Ruins door, who questions the absence of the Player's usual vessel. Confusing Sans with Pico, Boyfriend immediately begins attacking.

Snowdin Tragedy

In Snowdin Town, Papyrus calls out his missing brother's name. Boyfriend arrives and Papyrus asks if he knows where his brother is, saying everyone in town has disappeared. Papyrus decides to capture Boyfriend for being human and accepts the rapper's singing game. During the song, Papyrus is hit by a blaster fired by Sans, who mocks the human and tells him to "be faster next time."

Multiple Endings

The mod features multiple endings based on player choices. The Genocide route continues the cycle of violence, while the Pacifist route requires not attacking Sans in the final battle. Different choices trigger different endings and unlock secret content. The True Ending requires specific conditions to be met throughout the playthrough.

Revolutionary Game Mechanics

💀

HP Drain System

Continuous HP loss throughout songs reflects Boyfriend's deteriorating determination. Missing notes accelerates the drain, while perfect combos slow it down. Some songs feature bones that cause persistent damage even when hitting notes correctly.

Gaster Blaster QTE

Press Space under 0.6 s when the screen inverts, or suffer an instant KO. Lightning-fast laser attacks require frame-perfect dodges mid-song. The hardest patterns require 13 consecutive perfect dodges.

👁️

Visual Interference

Bones obscure note tracks, dust particles cloud vision, screen shakes during intense moments, and reality glitches between pixel and HD art styles. Players must rely on rhythm memory when visibility drops.

🔄

Timeline Mechanics

Songs feature sudden BPM changes (120→200), timeline splits showing multiple realities, and meta elements where the game "crashes" intentionally. The mod remembers your previous attempts and references them.

🎭

Multiple Endings

Genocide Route: Continue the cycle of violence. Pacifist Route: Spare Sans in the final battle. True Ending: Meet hidden conditions throughout. Each ending unlocks different bonus content and AU battles.

🎮

AU Universe Battles

Unlock battles against DustSwap, DustFell, DustBelief, DustShift, Horror, Fresh!Sans, Error!Sans, and Killer!Sans versions. Each AU has unique mechanics and visual styles. Hidden easter egg: Steve from Minecraft appears as a secret unlockable character! Use earned EXP to access the secret shop with 7+ bonus songs. The team even joked about adding "Dusttoilet" (Dusttale + Skibidi Toilet) if their tweet got 3000 likes.

Pro Tips for High-Level Players

Mastering Special Mechanics

For HP drain sections, maintain continuous combos to minimize health loss. When bones cover the track, rely on audio cues and muscle memory rather than visual input. For Gaster Blasters, watch for the telltale flash or exclamation mark warning - prioritize dodging over hitting notes, as missing a few notes is better than instant death.

Dealing with Speed Changes

Practice songs in segments to master BPM transitions (especially Perseverance's 120→200 shifts). Count beats during pauses - Papyrus's laugh interruptions follow a pattern. Use practice mode to isolate difficult sections and build muscle memory for rapid transitions.

Optimal Key Bindings

Use dual-hand layouts (DFJK or WASD+Arrows) for maximum efficiency. For jack patterns and trills, alternate between fingers to avoid fatigue. Consider binding dodge to a thumb key for easier Gaster Blaster sections while maintaining note inputs.

Visual Interference Strategies

When bones obscure notes, focus on the edges where notes appear briefly. During dust particle effects, track the rhythm rather than individual notes. For timeline glitches, memorize the "real" pattern - fake notes usually appear slightly off-beat.

Perfect Run Requirements

Only 0.3% of players achieve no-damage True Pacifist ending. Requirements include: Never miss a Gaster Blaster dodge, maintain 95%+ accuracy on all songs, don't attack during specific Pacifist segments, and find all 7 hidden Wingdings codes for secret songs.
